Spring arrives

A glorious morning with warmth in the sunshine before 10 am. We have opened up the pool and put out the furniture so its beginning to look ready for the summer ahead. Daisy as you can see from the photo is making sure the pool is hoovered out and ready to use.

The grass is growing like mad so we spend half our time cutting it in the garden and restricting the field grazing for the horses, who are now back home at last. The fields are full of buttercups, cowslips, pulmonaria, wood anemones, and around us in the words are the glorious bluebells. Spring is without doubt my favourite time of year, for me it starts with the first cuckoo, heard here on the 9th April and hasn’t stopped since.
